Unless you have had your head in the sand (or you are a non fashion conscious guy) you will have noticed a new trend that has emerged slowly over time...it is structured items of clothing.

Think heavy fabrics, strong lines and big pointed shoulders. It isn't for everyone, but once you have purchased one item like this and actually ventured out in it, it will become a staple item of your wardrobe.
Very easy to dress up or down just by adding something like a t-shirt with a sharp looking skirt, or cute brogues with a structured shift dress.

These are some of my top pics...

PS. the first pic is my absolute FAVOURITE...I NEED IT!

The best thing about summer is not only the fact its nice and warm but also that we get extra sun every night.
I don't know about you but in summer a day at the beach tends to extend into an invite back to someones house for an impromptu BBQ.
This can present fashion disaster...if you have opted for a tiny pair of cut-offs and you get to the bbq realising that nice summer breeze is kicking in, not always a winning combination.

If your chances of going to drinks after bbq are high and you know you won't have time to get home wear something like the dresses/cover-ups below...will save you a lot of hassle!!

The week of our girls glamping trip has finally arrived...i have been pouring through all my clothes trying to find cute outfits to wear while we are away.
I know we are doing some boyish things as well like shooting and also doing some wineries...i had planned the cutest outfits until i was informed that it goes to minus 10 degrees at night so quickly had to revise night time attire.

When plannign we have to be prepared to do things like jump on a horse...tights or shorts are probably best teamed with cute boots and tops makes it a very easy weekend to pack for!

As long as the days stay warm we can still wear what we had picked :)

I was inspired by festical looks from Glastonbury and Coachella.

If you have read any previous posts of mine you will have figured i am recently single....
After 2 1/2 years in a relationship I now am ready to get back on the dating wagon, the only thing is after years off the wagon I'm trying to figure out... is there still an art to it?

Guys for example can somehow find the time to make you feel like you are the only girl they are interested in...little do you know they send that cute little "Hi Gorgeous Girl" message to 10 other lucky ladies carefully selected from their contacts. I'll tell you guys out there that are into the whole 'i'm going to chase as many girls as i can'...its QUALITY not QUANTITY!

You are just lucky that group texting is now so easy and that great phone cap deals now exist. What I don't get is how you can keep up with remembering all these little things each girl tells you (you must be eating your weeties)...kudos to you if you actually pull it off.

Another thing that is baffling me at the moment..is there still actually 'the game'?
Am i meant to wait half an hour before responding to a message?
Do i let their call ring out and call back an hour later feigning interest?

All in all i am just going to be myself and enjoy summer...BUT if someone would like to shed some light on this topic for me, go right ahead...at the moment i feel like im going in blind.

So when looking at my calendar today  noticed it is not long until Christmas (again). This year seems to have flown by faster than usual....

I dont know about you but i write a list and stick it on the fridge at my parents house so they can start sharing it with the grandparents etc and i wont get stuck with yet another pair of pyjamas or undies and socks.

Get in early and it will give you time to find more things you want to add to your list!

Gift vouchers are always a winner as well.

I am DYING for the cartier love bracelet (first picture)!!! someone show my mum this blog please :)

Lets face it...sometimes you don't want to have to cook...and you also can't be bothered to get changed to go to a snazzy restaurant.
Some of my fave cheap eats around Sydney are these:

* Sushi Arigato - Stanley st, has a cute little courtyard, really good food and is BYO
* Il Vicoletto - Crown st Darlinghurst, have been going here for girls dinners for years, BYO, super cheap and really good Italian some of my favourite waiters in Sydney!
* Sandpit - North Bondi, So good after a big morning at the beach, really good sambos and rose'.
* Kuk Thai- Woollahra, Very fresh nice food, perfect for takeaway when you dont feel like eating unhealthy and cant be assed to cook.
* Brown Rice Sushi - Double Bay, Cute and small tucked in the back streets, very chilled out vibe, BYO and really good food
* Miss Chu - Darlinghurst, has to be my favourite place in summer (i go once a week) fun to go on a relaxed date nice to sit outside and amazeballs food!

When in the USA i noticed that every second chain store (ie. H&M, Target) were joining forces with massive luxury designers.

Their lines are extremely affordable and amazeballs to say the least. So here is my whinge for the day...WHY DON'T WE EVER HAVE THIS IN AUSTRALIA...STELLA MCCARTNEY FOR TARGET LIKE 5 YEARS AGO JUST DOESN'T CUT IT!!!

There we go im sort of done now.

I'm pretty miffed that target over there gets missoni, and not just clothes im talking homewares as well....not to mention VERSACE is joining forces with H&M.....

I'm sorry but we need more of that here ASAP!!! That is all.

The past few weeks i have been looking at studio apartments for myself...the way i look at it is that summer is coming which means i want to be back east where all my friends live and also close to fun nightlife. So i settled on a tiny shoebox of a studio in an amazing location with hopes that i will spend not a whole lot of time in there apart from getting ready to go out and sleeping.

When i say tiny  people probably have bigger bedrooms than my entire new pad.....that said it doesnt mean im not going to decorate it all girly chic. Im excited i can have my own way with decorating and have already bought a chandelier to put in.

Some tricks i have learned while attempting this are:

Mirrors: and lots of them! It adds the illusion of a lot more space than you actually have.

Under bed storage units: perfect for storing shoes and foldable items such as t shirts...even some accessories and bags. im in love with the range from IKEA...so cheap and works a treat!

Tall but wide sectioned shelving units: you can use the lower levels for shoes and clothes and as you work your way up go with the more simple items such as jewellry so it doesnt look so cluttered.

When adding flowers or other decorations keep it simple aim for spindly flowers such as willow branches or cut your flowers down low so they don't take up too much room.

GOODLUCK!!! (and think of me in cooped up in my little shoebox apartment if its a crappy rainy summer like last year fingers crossed its not) xxxxxxx L
