In earlier posts you may have read i recently moved house...
This presented a BIG problem..being that i ended up moving around 18 garbage bags of clothes and shoes...not sure about you but i find this RIDICULOUS!
Sure i am a self confessed shopaholic yes but 18 bags of crap is just not acceptable.
Doing a bit of a mind cleanse at the moment and i think a major factor in stress can be clutter and useless crap surrounding you all the time, sends your subconscious into overdrive.
So go by the rule 'if you havent worn it in 2 years- chuck it out".
Well dont actually chuck it give it to charity...just because people are homeless doesn't mean they wont appreciate wearing nice clothes!

My Before pile of clothes- am yet to cull but it will happen!

TGIF is all i have to say! Am loving that its Friday and its not only the weekend tomorrow but we are currently at the starting line for a long weekend!
Sunday nights out are a bit of a novelty for me...it means you can nurse a hangover in the comfort of your own bed instead of scoffing a bacon and egg roll under you desk at work.

These are some of my fave Sunday afternoon (pre huge Sunday night out) drinking holes

* Watsons Bay Hotel
* Sheaf - Double Bay
* Winery - Surry Hills
* Wharf Bar - Manly
* North Bondi Italian
* Bondi Social
* Icebergs

Everyone has a mental life 'to do' checklist...i have never really written mine down until today..i have been inspired by my dad who gave himself until he was 50 to check most of it off...and he did!

Mine is as follows and i think i have until jan 2013 to complete this so feel free to kick my ass if i start lagging:

* Shoot a semi-automatic weapon (yes i have issues)
* Run a half marathon (next may)
* Purchase myself an apartment
* Pat a snake (and for all of you with a dirty mind i mean the reptile kind...i am deathly afraid of them)
* Dive with sharks
* Girls trip to Greek Islands
* Start thinking about opening my own florist

So its not much but its getting there...xxxxxxxxxL

I have noticed over the last few weeks that there is now a line out the door to get into the gym at lunch times....what i dont understand is why as soon as a hot day hits everyone suddenly freaks out about the crap they have eaten all winter.....EXERCISE THROUGH WINTER PEOPLE THEN YOU WONT NEED TO WORRY!!!
Sorry for that little vent...now its sort of warming up and daylight savings is around the corner it inspires some different types of fitness.

If its a beautiful day you want to be outside to make the most of it not in a stuffy gym...some fun fitness activities i am a big fan of are:
* Outdoor Boxing
* Early morning soft sand runs
* Surfing
* Stand up paddle boarding
*Bike riding
* Group training with friends like bootcamp
and for the not so image conscious....rollerblading :)

In the spirit of this shite weather Sydney seems to be having almost every weekend i have a few ideas of things you can do instead of pulling out your hair with frustration.

* Hit the gym- it will leave you feeling more energised and hopefully not so depressed due to crap weather.
* Go for a boozy lunch with fun friends - you may obliterate yourself so badly you wont even notice the weather.
* Board games - popped into my mind but then i realised they werent even fun when you were 10 so why would they be now...involve booze with board games and things get interesting.
* Girly Movie Marathon - crack open the bubbly, get your girls over and order good take out
*Spa day - treat yourself to manis pedis and a massage will make you feel like a million bux.
* Shop - always a winner when the weather gets you down...there is nothing that cheers me up faster than shopping
.
Shopping is my cardio

As you can see most of these ideas involve booze...so really thats your answer of what to do when the weather is shite!

If you are like me and can't be bothered going out and buying a whole new summer wardrobe (because really the fashion isnt super different to last summer) Go out and buy a few staple pieces then splurge on fun accessories that will update outfits you may have already work.
A simple black dress can look totally different with a big chunky necklace and a cute hat.
Buy some fun shoes that change uo your outfit...cut an old t-shirt into a singlet...get creative!

The last few weeks have been a tad stressful for me...and i am not a highly strung or easily stressed out person (luckily)
I have found the perfect remedy to this is hitting the gym and pounding the treadmill or hitting a pump class. Well i have grown tired of this and recently re discovered BOXING!
I realised there is a boxing bag hanging in the garage....i attended a few boxing classes at the gym at the beginning of the year, so once you have the technique sort of down you can really let loose and pound the crap out of that bag...even kicking (remember to keep your foot flat) is a great way to let off some steam after a long day.

NOTE: for full cleansing if its an individual that is irritating you print out a picture of their head and stick it on the bag and smack away....IT FEELS GREAT!
Below are some cute boxing accessories (yes i own pink boxing gloves) that make the boxing feel more girly.

I love a good themed dinner party, it seems to add to the excitement of catching up with your friends.
My favourite theme at the moment is "Mexican Fiesta".
I make a crapload of sangria to get the party started...also available at little discount stores are colourful sombreros which are good to help your guests start to get into the mood.
As host you should wear something bright and in theme maybe a cute poncho of kaftan.
Another fun idea is to hang a pinata outside and get everyone to have a go after dinner.
WARNING: make sure your guests stand back from the blindfolded person wacking it because after a few glasses of sangria this can be quite dangerous, also best to hang it away from any windows.
Mexican fiesta is perfect for summer...the dishes i attempt are, chilli con queso (cheese dip), guacamole, crispy chilli lime chicken burritos and a big beef nachos. Make sangria and margaritas and be prepared for leftovers...mexican is super filling. ENJOY   xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx L
